…and the answer to the question that literally no one has been waiting for was The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Coleridge…above is another one of Mervyn Peake’s gorgeous illustrations from the edition I bought: the Mariner with the albatross tied round his throat.

111 showed ‘Life in Death’ who had just won a game of dice with Death…there’s zombies and curses and all sorts in this opiate nightmare…what is not to want to read over and again about this thing.
