Fictions of Every Kind (at Wharf Chambers)
A splendid night run by wonderful people (Claire, Jenna and Sarah). Quite possibly the warmest, most welcoming open mic (with free gifts for everyone who steps up) and there’s always someone new to hear. Just leaves you feeling happy.
Plus a resident house band of quite alternative talents. Last night they played a Joy Division classic, accompanied only by “Adams Family” style finger clicking, a ukulele driven version of “Papa Don’t Preach”, then they played this, one of my favourite of the era (they just didn’t have the accent to carry off the rhymes).
