Fascinating article on the damage we are (nearly) all doing to ourselves by not getting our 8 hours a night, every night; and yes, almost all of us needs that much, anything less than 7 hours should be classed as sleep depravation. Going as far as asking whether employers should start thinking about ‘sleep bonuses’. The list of ailments/conditions he believes lack of proper, regular sleep can contribute to includes strokes, Alzheimers, diabetes, a variety of cancers…and this guy is no fly by night, Matthew Walker is ‘Formerly a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, he is now professor of neuroscience and psychology at the University of California, Berkley.’
The problem is societal but the damage individual. Sobering.
