(translated by Tiina Nunnally)
Ferociously mundane description of madness.
A writer’s husband is studiously and repeatedly unfaithful. Telling her in great detail what he has been up to and with whom. She tries to kill herself and spends three weeks (at least) in a psychiatric ward.
Its devastating power, lies in the simple language of the book. At 130 pages, slim enough to be a splinter that gets under the skin and irritates, before infecting.
“…I just want to know the truth“…“Have you ever known anyone who has derived the least benefit from the truth?”
